CLASSIC-PLACED, MULTIPLE GRADED STAKES WINNER OF $899,722
AT TWO: Stakes-placed winner of three races from 5 1/2 furlongs to 1 1/16 mi. IMPERIALISM finished 2nd in the Mecke S. and 3rd in the $100,000 Foolish Pleasure S (dq).
AT THREE AND FOUR: A Classic contender, IMPERIALISM won his first two starts at three in the San Vicente S-G2 and the San Rafael-G2 (defeating LIONHEART). In his next 10 career starts he won or was on the board EIGHT times (all Grade 1 and 2 races) including: 1st: Pat O’brien Breeders Cup H-G2 2nd: Strub S-G2 Santa Anita Derby-G1 3rd: Kentucky Derby-G1 (to Smarty Jones and Lionheart); Hollywood Derby-G1 4th: Super Derby-G2; Oak Tree Derby-G2; San Fernando Breeders’ Cup S-G2
As a racehorse, IMPERIALISM was both an outstanding Classic competitor as well as a come-from-behind sprinter, not unlike his sire LANGFUHR who became Champion sprinter in Canada. LANGFUHR, 2006 Top-Ten Leading Sire and 2005 Leading Sire of Winners is also Leading Crop Sire each year from 2002-2005. LANGFHUR is sire of Horse of the Year and Canadian Triple Crown winner WANDO ($2,563,038), Champion MOBIL ($1,877,136), 2006 Grade 2-winning millionaire LAWYER RON and 63 other blacktype performers.
IMPERIALISM is half-brother to multiple stakes winner and Grade 2-placed WHITE BEAUTY ($361,663). His second dam Fia, is the winning Grade 1-placed (3rd, Coaching Club American Oaks-G1) daughter of ONE FOR ALL, Champion Turf Horse in Canada.
A family of stamina infused with DANZIG top-class sprinter speed, IMPERIALISM (inbred to NORTHERN DANCER 3x4) possesses all of the ingredients for becoming a big attraction to Florida breeders in 2007!
