Two Step Salsa runners posted three victories over the past six days and as a result, the stallion by Petionville now has 16 winners for the season and saw his progeny earnings jump to $402,041.
At Aqueduct, Mr. Fixit picked up $24,000 for his 4 3/4-length score under Angel Arroyo after returning from a 6 1/2-month layoff. The 3-year-old gelding was on the pace from the outset, then drew off in the stretch, clocked in 1:11.28 for the six furlongs. Mr. Fixit, bred by Lance Corwell, had broken his maiden at Gulfstream Park last July while paying $80.40 and has now won two of his three starts . . . Sealed With a Kiss has won two in a row and three of her last four after prevailing by three-quarters of a length in a seven-furlong test at Tampa Bay Downs. The 4-year-old filly was involved in a three-way battle for the lead early, then proved best in the lane and earned $7,740 for the victory under Raul Mena. It was the fifth victory for Sealed With a Kiss, and boosted her earnings to $53,580.
In Ohio, Too Fly Salsa came from back in the pack with Gerardo Corrales, slipped through on the inside on the turn and continued on to break her maiden by 2 1/4 lengths in a one-mile race at Mahoning Valley. The 3-year-old filly has been in the top three in four of her seven starts.
