Breed them to run... Breed them to win

Salsa Jack Vaults Two Step Salsa Over $800,000

Two Step Salsa broke the $800,000 mark in progeny earnings for the year yesterday when Salsa Jack went wire-to-wire in a 1 1/16th-mile turf race at Gulfstream Park. The 3-year-old gelding, who did not race at two, broke his maiden in his fourth start this year for owner and breeder Southwind Stables. Tyler Gaffalione put Salsa Jack on the lead at the break and the pair were never threatened, opening up by four lengths in the stretch and coasting to the wire by 3 3/4. Salsa Jack, Two Step Salsa's 31st winner of 2018, earned $11,600 for the victory, boosting his sire's earnings to $806,731.
