Back on Sept. 30 of 2015, trainer Tino Attard claimed Rince Tapaigh at Woodbine for $16,000. It was the 11th start in the career of the Two Step Salsa filly, who has been in the care of Attard ever since, spanning 31 more races. Rince Tapaigh won at Woodbine yesterday, raising her record to 8-10-6 in 42 starts and her earnings to $158,831. More than $107,000 of it has come since taking up residence in Attard's barn. The 6-year-old mare settled into fourth place early in the one-mile turf race, came two-wide on the turn, and cruised to a 2 1/2-length victory, clocked in 1:35.19. She's now Two Step Salsa's 10th-leading earner . . . At Gulfstream Park, Dancing Starlet gained her first victory of 2018, winning by three-quarters of a length going seven furlongs, and earning a check of $10,400. With the two victories, Two Step Salsa's progeny earnings passed $1.6 million for this year and $9 million lifetime.
