Lawyer Drill Presents Good Case in Gulfstream Mile

Lawyer Drill made his case at Gulfstream Park yesterday, breaking his maiden in his seventh start and sending Drill over the $400,000 mark in earnings this year.

The 3-year-old gelding got off second in the one-mile test over the main track, and Jeffrey Sanchez sent him after pacesetter Indy Rules on the turn after the two put up fast fractions of :22.93 and :45.92. Lawyer Drill shook free at the top of the stretch and won by nearly two lengths without the need of a verdict by the placing judges. He paid $20.80, picked up a check for $10,400, and became winner No. 14 for Drill this year.
