Drill Dancer kicked off the 2019 season on a high note with a sharp second-place finish in the $42,040, Gr. III Clasico Verset's Jet Stakes at Camarero Race Track in Puerto Rico. It was just the second start for the 3-year-old Drill filly, who had broken her maiden by 12 1/2 lengths on Dec. 6.
Juan Diaz was aboard Drill Dancer again, guiding her to the runner-up finish despite encountering trouble en route. She finished two lengths behind 1/2 favorite She's a Bullet, a four-time graded stakes-winner, and earned a check for $8,408. The seven furlongs over a muddy track went in 1:25.20.
