Dancin Nicky gave Two Step Salsa another stakes-placed runner yesterday when he finished second in the $60,000 MTA Stallion Auction Stakes at Canterbury Park. The 3-year-old colt led for the first half-mile of the 6 1/2-furlong race, putting up fractions of :22.86 and :45.22, but he was unable to hold off Speeding Kid, who was the prohibitive favorite at 20 cents to a dollar. Dancin Nicky collected $12,000 for his runner-up finish and now sports a record of two victories and a second in four starts with earnings of $34,193 . . . At Delaware Park, Two Steppin Bucky broke her maiden in her third start with a wire-to-wire, 4 1/4-length victory at six furlongs. It was the first race for the 3-year-old filly in 8 1/2 months and she became the 56th winner for Two Step Salsa this year.
